Circulation Essentials
  • Hello everyone.  I'm new to this site and have learned quite a bit in this short time.  It's nice to know that others share my interest in this topic.  I was recently diagnosed with venous insufficiency.  I've already had the saphenous vein in my one leg closed by laser and many sclerotherpy/laser treatments for spider veins.  My major problem is swelling and many spider veins around both ankles.  So far I've started exercising, I eat well, take sufficient fiber, and am now starting to take a supplement.  I had been taking Venaforce (horse chestnut) until I found this site.  I've just ordered Circulation Essentials and am looking forward to trying it.  I've done a bit of research and it supports your comments about this supplement and it's ingredients.  I do have a question regarding this.  What exactly should I expect from supplementation?  I know that the use of the horse chestnut does ease the swelling in my legs since I've used it before.  Can I expect any improvement in the appearance of my legs?
  • Hi mboykin!
People taking the right supplements should expect a higher quality of life. Meaning, you should have less pain and less or even no swelling at all.

For the improvement in the appearance of your legs, it depends at what stage your varicose veins are. People with ulcers generally do see a major improvement in their legs. And people with smaller "young" varicose veins do see them reduce in size.

But the most important is the effect it will have on the long-term. For example, let's say we took a picture of two subjects with similar stage of venous insufficiency today. We then tell the first person to take supplements for his or her legs. Every day, they both do the same activities and they both wear their compression stockings. When we take a picture of them two or three years later, the first person will have less spider veins and varicose veins then the second person. It helps prevent new varicose veins better than just compression stockings.

I hope that answered your question.
    Have a great day,

    Marc
  • I read the info on Circulations Essentials and really want to purchase it. (I have been using Veinity RX but C.E. looks superior). However, in the info it talked about how important Horse Chestnut is, but it doesn't appear on the label. What am I missing?
  • Thanks for pointing that out Kathye. It was my mistake.
Horse Chestnut is helpful when it comes to varicose veins. But by experience, horse chestnut tends to stop having any effect after a few weeks. Circulation essentials has in its place pine bark extract, which works much better on the long term.

Plus, Circulation Essentials is a lot cheaper than Veinity RX, making it my favorite choice for the long term health of my legs. And I'm sure it will be for you too.

I hope that answers your question!
    Talk to you soon,

    Marc

  • How often should I wear compression stocking to help diminish the bigger veins? Can I do it while I sleep? Do you have a recommendation about which ones to use ?
    THANKS>

  • Hi Mrnga,
Normally, you should wear your compression stockings when you know you will be standing up or sitting still for a long period of time. In most case, you don't have to wear them while you sleep since you can simply incline your bed to naturally improve the blood flow in your legs.

If you don't have compression stockings yet, I strongly recommend www.foryourlegs.com
    They are the best.

  • Hi, is there any side effects to using this product?
  • The only side effect I'm aware of is in rare cases upset stomach if taken on an empty stomach. But taken with a meal, you shouldn't have any problem.
